On June 7, construction of our new library began with the official Groundbreaking Ceremony.

When the long-awaited day came to break ground on our new library, we were greeted to a classic Maine spring day, with an abundance of sunshine. On-hand to toss the first shovelfuls of dirt were a large gathering of townspeople, wellwishers and dignitaries. Select Board Chair Ken McKinley, Town Manager Rick Bates, Architect Steve Smith, PHI Builder’s Bettina Doulton, Library Director Ben Blackmon, and RLF Capital Campaign Co-Chairs Joan Welsh and Bill Leone all shared their thoughts on helping us reach this milestone in our Town’s history and on the amazing building that will follow.

Thank you to all the many people who worked tirelessly over the years toward reaching this momentous occasion. We can't wait to be in our new building so we can serve the community better than ever… and for many years to come.
